Fire Warden Appreciation Day

By Natalie Skelton DLA Aviation Public Affairs Office

Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Fire Prevention staff showed their appreciation during their quarterly training session June 13 with a luncheon and tour of the fire station to over 30 Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees who serve as fire wardens. Fire wardens have the responsibility to ensure their work areas remain safe. They serve as the “eyes and ears” of the fire department by playing an important role: ensuring their areas are free from potential fire hazards, assisting in evacuations and personnel accountability during an emergency. Fire wardens provide pertinent information to arriving fire department personnel once they arrive on the scene of an incident.
