San Diego’s Palamara selected as DLA Security Civilian of the Year

Marcus Palamara, former security officer at Defense Logistics Agency San Diego, California, was named the Security Civilian of the Year.

Palamara worked as the anti-terrorism officer for two sites, he worked tirelessly with the Emergency Operation Center at Naval Base San Diego, Naval Air Station North Island and regional partners. On a monthly basis, he role played emergency situations with multiple tenant commands from the two bases. His actions ensured increased security readiness and standards were met for over 15,000 employees at both bases.

“Mr. Palamara brought to San Diego Distribution the technical expertise of 28 years as a Master at Arms,” stated Gregory Levardo, Palamara’s supervisor.. “He sincerely put his heart into ensuring our agency received the best product from his effort and is by far the most proactive and most intrusive security officer.”

Palamara departed DLA Distribution San Diego in September and is currently working as the physical security supervisor for Naval Weapons Station Seal Branch, California.
