NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Susquehanna hosted DLA Installation Management Director Don Phillips, who visited the New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, site Aug. 2.
Phillips was recently appointed director of DLA Installation Management – his previous position was as the DLA Installation Management deputy director for policy. His directorate is responsible for installation support activities including installation management (engineering), facilities and equipment maintenance, business management, environmental management, security and emergency services and family and morale, welfare and recreation for DLA’s worldwide enterprise.
The purpose of this visit was to meet with DLA’s Installation Management Susquehanna Site Director, Rob Montefour, DLA Installation Management for Distribution Site Director, Vic Montefour, DLA Distribution Commander, Navy Rear Adm. Grafton D. Chase and DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, Commander, Army Col. Samuel Miller.
Additionally, Phillips received an overview of the operation technology pillars for technology advancements with J6 and DLA Installation Management Susquehanna Installation Management Division and Security & Emergency Services Division, as well as visit employees in various work sections on-site to gain an understanding of their mission and support.
Phillips also conducted a town hall with employees, providing them with a leadership update and discussing his goals and challenges. Phillips also presented employees with awards, noting the importance of recognizing employees for a job well done.
Bruce Thomas, DLA Installation Management staff director and Gerald Barb, DLA Installation Management physical security program manager, joined Phillips for the site visit.
