New Environmentally Friendly Stationary Aerial Targets, or EFSATS, are placed by a team of airmen, sailors and Marines on tiny Idesuna Island, off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, in June. The local DLA Disposition Services team provided guidance and assistance for a recent range improvement project that required the disposal of an estimated 20,000 pounds of inert munitions and range target residue. The site had previously gone more than a decade without a roundup of debris.
