Governor assesses Ohio’s importance to nation’s military defense strategy
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The DLA Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. John Palmer hosted Joseph Zeis during an installation orientation visit April 1 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. Zeis was recently appointed to Governor Mike DeWine’s staff as the aerospace and defense advisor.
Spring into action: MWR and Environmental team up to offer volunteer opportunities for associates
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associates looking to take a more active, hands-on role in improving the environment are now able to make an impact on the installation. DLA Installation Operations at Columbus Welfare and Recreation Division and Environmental Division volunteer opportunities include the Butterfly Club, Bluebird Box Team and the CDC Garden Team.

Information fair kicked off April’s Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month at DSCC
COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office hosted an information fair during lunch in the Operation Center Café April 3. The fair provided information and resources available at DSCC and in the surrounding community for survivors of sexual assault and their advocates.

Visionary Women: Journeys of persistence and resiliency recognized during 2019 Women’s Leadership Summit
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A March 27 women’s leadership summit at DSCC honored contributions of women in central Ohio and highlighted their journeys of persistence and resiliency. The EEO office’s Federal Women’s Program hosted leading women from the fields of business, politics, government and military as part of its recognition of Women’s History Month.
Seeds of hope planted at DSCC
COLUMBUS, Ohio — As part of raising awareness for Child Abuse Prevention, Defense Supply Center Columbus associates gathered at Hope Garden in Mission Park to place pinwheels and spread seeds around the garden April 1. April is the designated Child Abuse Prevention Month and blue is the color associated with the cause.
