NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Army Staff Sgt. Brandon Guevara, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, Aerial Delivery East and West Bulk Receiving non-commissioned officer-in-charge, was named DLA Junior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year at the agency’s 51st annual employee recognition ceremony Dec. 13.
“An outstanding NCO, Staff Sergeant Guevara's positive impact has been immeasurable in the management of the aerial delivery section mission in support of the entire Department of Defense,” said DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, commander Army Col. James Callis II.
Guevara ensures that all assigned mission stock and equipment valued at over $450 million are 100 percent accounted for and mission-ready. Guevara also meticulously assists in supervising the receipt of all parachute and accessories materiel within the command, equating to 1,600 tickets valued at over $96 million.
Guevara has also played a key role in identifying and scheduling over $100 million of materiel for turn-in and reutilization.
In addition to his regular duties, he led the Parachute Section in assisting the Cold Chain Team in packing and shipping over 3 .8 million influenza doses to all units across DoD, maintaining warfighter readiness.
