NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
The position of senior enlisted advisor at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, changed hands May 4 as Army 1st Sgt. Marcio F. Teixeira relinquished command to Army 1st Sgt. Gabriel L. Hamilton. The moment doubled as a retirement ceremony for Teixeira honoring his over 20 years of service in the U.S. Army.
“My experience with first sergeants has been nothing less than outstanding,” said U.S. Army Col Trenton Connor, Commander, DDSP. “It was a first sergeant that taught a young Lt. Connor how to be a leader in the 101st Airborne Division.”

The position of senior enlisted advisor is uniquely positioned to provide “a sense of the boss” according to Connor.
Teixeira expressed his gratitude to his wife for her support all throughout his military career.
