By Matthew Mahoney DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Marine Corps Maj. John Jarvis was promoted to Lt. Col. John Jarvis in a small ceremony at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution May 1.

“These promotions come with the expectation of what you can do at that higher level,” said Navy Rear Adm. Grafton Chase, commander, DLA Distribution, in comments before administering the oath of office.

Jarvis was “pinned,” the act of removing the old rank emblems from the uniform and applying the new rank emblem, by his wife Malia. Jarvis’ family was in attendance for the ceremony.

Lt. Col. Jarvis has served for 25 years, first enlisting in 1998 as a KC-130 loadmaster. He is currently a joint exercise planner for DLA Distribution.
