As we celebrate this Labor Day and take time to honor the hard work and contributions workers have made to the prosperity of our great nation, we also celebrate our contribution to supporting the warfighter. Mr. Knight and I are extremely proud of what you do each and every day to support our critical mission and our customers. You all are truly making a difference!
While you enjoy this holiday weekend, please remember to minimize risks associated with your activities. Minimizing risks does not mean you have to remove the fun; it simply means to pay close attention to the safety aspects of your activities and to exercise good judgment. Whether planning a cookout, traveling to see family and friends, or enjoying outdoor activities, don’t let the fun turn into accidental injuries or tragedy by ignoring safe practices. Remember to take frequent breaks when driving long distances. Buckle up each and every time, utilize designated driver, and travel defensively.
As you we move into Labor Day 2023, remember that the accomplishments, hard work, and dedication of every worker has had a profound impact on the development of our nation and in the development of many other nations around the world.
Finally, I ask that you remember our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Guardians, who are deployed all over the world ensuring our freedom. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts not only during the upcoming holiday weekend, but each and every day.
