Andrews becomes newest commander of DLA Distribution Pearl Harbor

Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Sean M. Andrews assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in a June 2 ceremony.  The ceremony was officiated by DLA Pacific commander Navy Capt. Timothy Daniels. 

Andrews was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and was commission as a naval supply officer in 1998 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.  He also earned a Master of Science from The Graduate School of Operational & Information Sciences, Naval Postgraduate School in 2010.

His shore assignments include Military Sealift Command Office Diego Garcia, where he served as executive/supply officer and provided logistical services to Strategic Sealift, Navy Fleet Auxiliary Force, Special Mission, and other MSC interest ships visiting Diego Garcia; Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific, Lemoore, California, where he served as component control officer and providing aviation logistics to F/A-18 squadrons stationed in Lemoore; Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae, South Korea, where he served as supply officer and provided logistic support services for 7th Fleet ship visits to South Korea; Commander, Task Force Five Three, where he served as the assistant requirements officer, coordinating tactical requirements for deployed USS ships in the Central Command Area of Responsibility; SDDC 597th Transportation Brigade, where he served as chief of operations, providing strategic surface deployment and distribution support to military forces deploying abroad; and Military Sealift Command Atlantic serving as Combat Logistics Force logistics officer, where he coordinated at-sea logistics for USS ships in the CTF-80 and C4F AORs.

Afloat assignments include stock control officer and principal assistant for Services, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), providing oversight and management of stock control and services divisions; and aviation stores officer, USS Tarawa (LHA 1), where he was responsible for processing, storage, issue, and disposal of aviation and surface parts.

Andrews’ personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and unit commendations.  He is also designated as a Naval Aviation Supply Officer, Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer and Joint Specialty Officer.
