Current events make September 2017 particularly relevant as National Preparedness Month begins
The 2017 National Preparedness Month theme is “Disasters Don’t Plan Ahead. You Can.” Since its inception in 2004, National Preparedness Month is observed each September in the U.S. September was chosen because the tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001 highlighted the importance of being prepared. September was also chosen because it contains the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season.
