National American Indian Heritage Month
Employees had the opportunity to see a display of Native American contributions and artifacts displayed inside the DLA Land and Maritime Operations Center Nov. 8 at part of the National American Indian Heritage Month kickoff. This year’s theme is “Tribal Nations Soaring to New Heights,” and focuses on tribal achievements. Program Chair Patricia Hampton (right) provided information about the invention of popcorn by Native American tribes and corn’s importance as a sacred plant.
