Bobbie H. Sanders

Deputy Director, DLA Human Resources

Ms. Sanders assists the HR Director in leading a team of approximately 900 human resources, training, and administrative professionals providing human resources support to approximately 25,000 DLA civilian and military employees, and nearly 37,000 civilian employees in other Defense organizations receiving human resources shared services from DLA. 

In her previous assignment, Ms. Sanders provided oversight of the development and management of strategic cyber workforce initiatives for the Department of Defense. In this role, she was responsible for the management of DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF), development of a cohesive set of policies and governance structure for cyber workforce, and the development of recruitment and retention programs. This includes developing the DoD Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, which established enterprise requirements for the entire cyber workforce to ensure cyber personnel were able to meet evolving mission needs. Ms. Sanders also served as the IT/Cyber Functional Community Manager, providing analyses on workforce trends, projected manpower needs, and competency gaps to develop gap closure strategies. Finally, Ms. Sanders served as the leader for the IT/Acquisition Knowledge Areas, in which she had numerous responsibilities to include coordinating IT and cybersecurity curriculum content for the Defense Acquisition University and the College of Information and Cyberspace at the National Defense University.

Ms. Sanders previously served as the strategic human resources manager for the Principal Cyber Advisor (PCA) Office of the Secretary of Defense. She also served at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in several roles focused on human resources and management to include serving as the Acting Executive for Workforce Management Directorate. Ms. Sanders is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Master of Arts Degree in General Administration. She is also a graduate of the Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Armed Services Staff School, and the Command and General Staff College.
