FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas and Deputy Commander Eric Smith sat down for a conversation with DLA Energy Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion Director Ahmad Burse to honor and recognize the importance of Women’s History Month, March 18. The leaders discussed trailblazing military women, strong female leaders and workforce equality.

Actions to help others should be focus of Martin Luther King Jr. birthday, says nephew

Isaac Newton Farris Jr. remembers the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. as “Uncle M.L.,” his mother’s lighthearted younger brother, fond of bike rides and pranks. He also remembers two major themes his uncle would advocate for just as strongly today, he told an audience Jan. 16 in the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

DLA members learn to communicate using ASL

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Learning how to communicate with others who may not communicate the same way as you is important, especially in the workplace.

The Women's Equality Day event guest speaker, Kathryn Ray, former president of The League of Women Voters of the District of Columbia and currently a reference librarian at American University in Washington, D.C., speaks to Defense Logistics Agency employees about women's struggles and triumphs to gain the right to vote during a Women’s Equality Day event held at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 24.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees gathered to celebrate women’s right to vote and commemorate their struggles and triumphs to gain what today is a fundamental right for Americans during a Women’s Equality Day event held at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 24.
