SAN DIEGO, Calif. –
DLA Distribution San Diego, California, offers their employees a distinctive opportunity once a month, to participate in a Peer-to-Peer Recognition program.
The P2P program allows for employees to gather monthly and discuss the culture and climate of the command, as well as to give feedback regarding theirs and their colleague’s performance.
The purpose of the program is to positively shape the commands climate, as well as promote teamwork and cohesiveness. It provides employees with a voice, encourages openness and transparency.
“Our Peer-to-Peer Recognition Program allows the workforce a formal venue to participate in the command’s recognition process. Employees are afforded the opportunity to provide their unique perspectives about the contributions of their colleagues which often times differ from a supervisor’s “performance review” perspective,“ said DLA Distribution San Diego commander Navy Capt. Jerome R. White.
Using the P2P program setting allows making recognition for jobs well done to be more accessible and meaningful. Additionally, it makes the recognition less like a performance review.
“Distribution San Diego’s P2P site program managers, Ron Vann, at San Diego, and DeRena Tuell, at Port Hueneme, are doing an excellent job managing our monthly recognition program,” said White.
