Distribution Commanding General visits Oklahoma City distribution center

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

On the afternoon of Jan. 17, DLA Distribution commanding general Army, Brig. Gen. John S.  Laskodi visited DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma employees in Warehouse 469 at Tinker Air Force Base.

While there, Laskodi met with the newly minted Retail Division team. He received a firsthand look of the new racking project being installed, and was able to compare the remnants of the old with the new.

Laskodi highlighted the organization’s success in the United States Air Force retail account and support. He recognized Tammie Foshee, a DLA Distribution Oklahoma City material examiner and identifier supervisor, as a distinguished performer for her team’s worldwide reputation of supporting the warfighter. “They have produced phenomenal performances across important customer-focused metrics including high priority and routine issues. Great work across the Oklahoma team.”

Additionally, Laskodi took the time while in Oklahoma City to present Air Force Capt. Joshua McNelley with a Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his service as Aide-de-Camp to the NATO Air Command-Afghanistan and 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force – Afghanistan from October 14, 2016 to April 12, 2017.

To wrap up his trip to Oklahoma City’s distribution center, Laskodi toured the Lockheed Martin Kitting operations where the DLA Distribution Expeditionary Team together with DLA Aviation built a total of 2,422 kits, of those 661 were partial priority kits and 169 were cross-leveled.
