NASA John Glenn security and engineer personnel visited the Defense Supply Center Columbus June 3. The purpose of the visit was to learn about DOD standards for an Access Control Point and lessons learned during the design and construction of the ACP, in preparation of NASA John Glenn redoing their main gate ACP. The visit included a tour and review of the North Yearling ACP with the DSCC Security Operations Chief and NASA personnel. Mandatory DOD criteria covered defeat of vehicle threat scenarios; traffic engineering; active and passive vehicle barriers; guard facilities; approach, control and response zones and command and control.
