Battle Creek, Michigan –
What do a carrot, a Batman and a baby shark all have in common?
Each one of them, and dozens of others clad as their favorite characters, filled their jack-o-lantern candy baskets to the brim during the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center’s annual Halloween parade Oct. 31.
Youngsters from the adjacent Stars and Stripes Learning Station roamed the historic main corridor of the federal center, weaving their way through a 50-yard gauntlet that included Lady Liberty, a little Dr. Seuss and a multitude of other festive feds as a driving rain turned the weather scary outside.
While a snow and wind advisory was projected to affect evening revelry in the streets throughout a big chunk of Michigan, these ghouls and goblins grabbed some great goodies and generosity generated grins.
