Name: Jeremy Walsworth

Organization: DLA Aviation-Cherry Point, North Carolina

Years of Service: 5 years.

What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically?  As an inventory management specialist.  I serve as the primary customer point of contact for the order management process. I ensure availability of materials to support maintenance and repair operations.

What do you like most about your job? What I like most about my job is the fact that I am still part of the Department of Defense and near the Marines. It makes me feel like I’m still in the game.

What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction?  Why?  The aspect of my job that gives me the most satisfaction is supporting the warfighter. I say this because I have walked in their shoes and still have good friends in those boots. For this reason, I wouldn’t think of letting them down.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them? If I could speak directly to the warfighter, I would tell them “you signed the contract!” Seriously, I would tell them how proud I am of them and I would let them know how much I miss serving with them.

What’s your biggest pet peeve? My biggest pet peeve is when operational constraints or lack of recourses force you to overlook the small details. For example, when the situation calls for a number 3 pencil but all you have is a number 2… that really irks me.

If you had a theme song, what would it be and why? If I had a theme song, it would be ‘Charlie don’t Surf’ by the Clash. My reasoning behind choosing this song is not for its musical qualities or the meaning behind the lyrics, but, solely for the title ‘Charlie don’t Surf.’ Why, because Wally does. My peers who think war will understand this.

If you could pick a personal motto, what would it be?  My personal motto is “Think War.” I chose this motto because I believe that with everything you do you should simply think war. Thinking war simply means demanding of yourself and those around you technical and tactical proficiency and to execute your mission with precision. It is also never compromising your integrity.

What is your favorite military aircraft and why? My favorite military aircraft is the OV-10 Bronco. I really like this aircraft because after a prestigious career from 1965 to 1995, the aircraft was brought out of retirement in 2012 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. It was during this time that the aircraft flew combat missions over Iraq and Syria. For me, this thing is like Rambo, but with wings!

What five things could you absolutely not live without? The five things I could not live without, in no specific order are oxygen, water, food, shelter and sleep.

What type of music do you most enjoy? The music that I most enjoy is anything with Iggy and the Stooges in it.
