“I always enjoy doing these ceremonies, celebrating our outstanding teammates, but this is by far the largest group of individuals that I get to honor,” said Maddox.

Many of the retirees in the ceremony had begun their federal service careers as GS-1s or GS-3s and some have risen through the ranks to positions of significant responsibility and authority.

“Every one of you have accomplished so much in service to your nation,” Maddox said. “Your years of service have made you a part of the rich history and exceptional reputation of DLA Troop Support and its legacy organizations.”

The ceremony was attended by many family members, current or former co-workers and friends.

“Please accept my most sincere gratitude for all you have done in service to our nation, the Defense Logistics Agency and—most importantly—the men and women of the armed forces,” Maddox said. “On behalf of myself and the entire workforce, I wish you and your family all the best in your retirement!”
