NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
In front of family and friends, DLA Distribution’s Air Force Lt Col Mike Davis was promoted to the rank of Colonel during a ceremony Dec. 2.
The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi, who congratulated the Current Operations deputy director on his career accomplishments and noted the significance of the day, both for Davis as well as the Air Force. “It’s day for the United States military as we recognize the great leadership potential of this gifted officer and charge him with greater responsibilities on behalf of the Nation.”
Following a reading of the official order announcing Davis’ promotion, he was pinned to the rank of colonel by his parents, his wife Kristi, and their children, Jack and Emma.
Davis followed his pinning by reciting the oath of office and thanking those that have aided him in his career, especially his family. “It’s luck and the love and support of my family that got me this far. Pure luck and support.”
Davis graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1995. A career logistician, his past assignments include a variety of wing, headquarters and joint positions.
