Corpus Christi distribution center welcomes new commander

Army Lt. Col. Daniel J. Bidetti assumed command of DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, in a June 14 ceremony.  The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi.

Bidetti, born in Bronxville, New York, and raised in Harrison, New York, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University in Vermont. 

His assignments include automotive platoon leader, executive officer, maintenance control officer and support operations maintenance officer, 27th Main Support Battalion (Rough Riders), 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; maintenance control officer, Installation Maintenance Management Activity, 22nd Area Support Group, Vicenza, Italy;  company commander, 173d Support Battalion (Providers), 173d Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy, deploying to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from 2005-2006;  observer controller / trainer, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana; assistant S3, Operations Group, JRTC, Fort Polk, Louisiana;  sustainment brigade plans officer, 15th Sustainment Brigade (Wagonmasters), Fort Hood, Texas, deploying to Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2009-2010;  support operations officer and brigade S4, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team (Ironhorse), 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, deploying to Operation New Dawn in Iraq and Operation Spartan Shield in Kuwait from 2011-2012;  senior test officer, Unmanned Aircraft System Air Integration Joint Test, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado;  support operations officer, 43d Sustainment Brigade (Rough Riders), Fort Carson, Colorado.

His most recent assignment was as the 4th Infantry Division (4ID, Ironhorse) deputy G4 at Fort Carson Colorado.  During his time with the 4ID, he served as the 4ID Mission Command Element (MCE) G4 in support of Atlantic Resolve operations; involving the Regionally Aligned BCT deployed throughout nine different European countries.

Bidetti’s military schooling includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course; Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course; Combined Arms and Services Staff School; Joint Firepower Course; the Support Operations Officer Course; Command and General Staff Course and Airborne School.

Bidetti’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters; the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the Joint Service Commendation Medal; the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters; the Army Achievement medal with three oak leaf clusters; the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star; The Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal; The Afghan Campaign Medal; The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals; the Armed Forces Services Medal and the Parachutist Badge.
