Corpus Christi’s Atoe named Employee of the Quarter

DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, employee Elyse Atoe has been selected as DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for third quarter, fiscal year 2017.

Atoe, who serves as Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking branch packer, was selected for her devotion to the packing mission, made evident through her consistent high performance which set the standard for PPP&M.

According to her supervisor, Troy Barker, Atoe is “an energetic, focused, and attentive packer, who utilizes her knowledge and skills to ensure mission success.  She ensures all material is expeditiously processed with no errors. She has stepped up and volunteered to take on additional duties without hesitation.”  

During this period, Atoe packed 53 hazardous assets valued at $1.65 million dollars, which, combined with non-hazardous assets, accounted for over 750 total assets packed, valued at nearly $21.7 million.

She also processed 397 Materiel Release Orders, valued at more than $7.6 million, for de-pack and customer delivery.  During this process, she ensured audit readiness standards were followed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, and ensured material matched documentation, performing at an accuracy rate of 100 percent.  

Processing more than 150 bulk asset maintenance returns inductions in DLA’s main warehousing system, Defense Standard System, Atoe performed the Kind, Count, and Condition process with a 100 percent accuracy rate.  She exceeded all production goals related to induction engineering standards.  

Additionally, Atoe organized the distribution center’s hazardous storage storerooms, ensuring 100 percent accountability and no denials during this period, and, as a result, all mission and non-mission MRO’s were able to be filled immediately.  “Her organizational skills and initiative ensured mission success,” said Barker.

Motivating co-workers with a sense of urgency while maintaining a positive attitude, Atoe is also known for her outstanding customer service.  “Ms. Atoe always gives the extra effort, goes the extra step, takes on the hardest tasks, and is well deserving of this recognition,” said Barker.
