Name: Alicia Stacy

Organization: DLA Aviation-Cherry Point

Years of Service: one year

What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically? As a customer support specialist, I work the Unfilled Order Report by verifying available quantity on and off station, submitting post-award referrals, requesting expedite delivery of contracts and shipping information on delinquent contracts, locating surplus and lateral supports and by researching the national item identification number for a suitable alternate.

What do you like most about your job? I like being able to see results from putting effort into locating hard-to-procure items and creating a direct impact on the warfighter.

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role? I attended United States Marine Corps Aviation Supply School in Meridian, Mississippi. I was an aviation supply marine for 12 years working and expediting backorders for the fleet flying squadrons. I got out of the Marine Corps in June 2014 as a sergeant. I have attended the DLA Aviation Academy and Enterprise Business System Order Fulfillment 408 Course.

What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job? My knowledge in understanding the supply system and capability to locate hard-to-procure items and suitable alternates which in turn supports the customer in lowering their lead time for repairing components.

What was your first job? I worked as a mason tender for my father. Within a couple months, my father trained me to be a brick layer.

What are some of your passions outside of work? I enjoy playing board games with my children, reading, weight lifting and training others to weight lift and prepare meals.

What’s the most thrilling/adventurous thing you have ever done? I received a massage from an elephant while in Phucket, Thailand.

Who is your favorite actor or actress and why? Jason Statham; he's an excellent actor and performs majority of his own stunts.

What is your proudest accomplishment? I’m most proud of being a single mom of five children while on active duty as a Marine.  I was still able to be involved in their lives and make sure they were well taken care of.
