During a recent site visit to DLA Distribution Red River, Texas on April 18, Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi presented Humanitarian Effort Awards to the Red River Expeditionary Team for going above and beyond overall mission support and for their and contributions to the DLA Distribution relief efforts.

During the 2017 hurricane season, the 22 member team spent a month deployed to different parts of the United States providing support to people affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The team, rich with experience in expeditionary deployments, has members who have been with them as little as two months to as long as 11 years.

In addition to the 22 individuals who deployed, there were many others working behind the scenes to ensure the entire operation was successful. They also received awards.

The Red River team has deployed over 50 times in support of DLA missions.
