Susquehanna, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation hosts 2nd annual Princess Ball

By Brianne M. Bender DLA Distribution Command Affairs

Defense Distribution Susquehanna, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division hosted an enchanting night for all little princesses at the Father and Daughter Princess Ball Feb. 22 at the Susquehanna Club, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

With children ranging in age from two to 13, this was the second year MWR hosted the sold-out event, which was attended by 200 fathers and daughters.

“Guests were greeted at the door by a princess playing the ukulele and singing songs from the movie ‘Moana,’” explained Susquehanna Club Manager Sharen Ewell. “We took formal photos before the princesses and their escorts were formally announced into the ballroom.”

MWR transformed the Susquehanna Club into a fairytale land and attendees were given the opportunity to meet some of their favorite magical Princesses including Cinderella, Elsa, Maleficent and Belle. The evening also included light hors d’oeuvres and desserts, dancing, and a Princess “meet and greet.”

DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania commander Army Col. Marchant Callis II and his daughter had a fantastic time at the Princess Ball. “It was clear that our MWR team did an outstanding job planning and executing the event. From the music and dancing, food and well-planned activities, to the MWR staff dressing up in character themselves, it was just really well organized and fun. After talking with many other DDC Susquehanna teammates who attended the event, I can confidently say that everyone had a really good time. I’m already looking forward to next year.”
