COLUMBUS, Ohio –
The Defense Supply Center Columbus Environmental Division
collaborated with Morale, Welfare and Recreation
to save 27 cubic yards of paper from entering the local landfill May 15.
Shred Day was open to all DSCC associates for personal shredding and employees recycled 13,165 pounds of paper, which is equivalent to 6.5 tons.
Additionally, nine cubic yards of cardboard were recycled from environmentally conscious donors.
The contract with a qualified shredding company that ensured personal identifiable information security allowed employees to securely dispose of documents with personal information while also ensuring the paper is recycled.
