The Defense Supply Center Columbus will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. in the Operations Center Auditorium. The event is hosted by Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime and will feature keynote speaker Liliana Vasquez, local chapter president of the League of the United Latin American Citizens. The theme of this annual event is “Feats of Valor” and will feature presentations on the U.S. Army’s Puerto Rican regiment – the 65th Infantry Regiment nicknamed the Borinqueneers. The regiment served in several conflicts dating back to the early 1900s and was one of the most decorated units of the Korean War.
