COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime cemented its partnership with a strategic supplier and renewed the relationship with another in the first week of October. Eaton’s Aerospace Group signed a strategic supplier alliance charter Oct. 3 with the Central Ohio logistics hub at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. The signing marked a transfer in the partnership from Richmond, Virginia-based DLA Aviation to DLA Land and Maritime.
DLA Land and Maritime also renewed its charter with Raytheon Oct. 1, as part of a series of annual renewals with several strategic suppliers over the coming weeks. The charters are designed to foster collaboration in order to provide improved supply chain support to the nation’s warfighters.
“These partnerships are important because they set a firm foundation for continued warfighter support,” said Navy Rear Adm. John Palmer, commander of DLA Land and Maritime.
Building and maintaining strong partnerships is a key focus area of DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell K. Williams’ Industry Engagement Plan.
“Warfighter First is our No. 1 priority and our success in ensuring military service readiness and combatant command lethality would not be possible without strong partnerships with industry,” Williams stated in the program’s release. “This plan focuses on DLA building stronger industry partnerships that are designed to meet long-term objectives and produce the most cost-effective and innovative solutions for our customers.”
