A recent “Lunch and Learn” series event at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center featured Jennifer Harrison of Western Michigan University and focused on building resiliency and managing through change.

“Dr. Harrison touched on some of the points made in [DLA Director] Lt. Gen. Williams’ Leading Change document and expanded on balancing work and life as well as combatting feelings of disconnection,” said Tiffany Schmidt, the chief of the federal center’s MWR office that helps coordinate the lunchtime topics.

According to Harrison, we all see the impacts of stress, but we can take steps to build our own resiliency and better manage it. DLA offers resources to help associates balance their mental, physical, social and spiritual pillars and strengthen their life.

The next lunch and learn program will take place in the Palm Garden Room Jan. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and cover estate planning, including wills, power of attorney documents and trusts.
