KOREA, July 10, 2020 —
–Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, Korea, conducted a virtual change of command ceremony July 10 with outgoing commander, Army Lt. Col. James M McGee, transferring command to Army Lt. Col. Corinne McClellan. Navy Capt. Jason Adams, Supply Corps, commander, DLA Indo-Pacific, presided virtually.
Virtual ceremonies have become more common in the wake of COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. All parties involved followed their local guidelines.
During his time as commander of DLA Distribution, Korea, McGee would maintain the operational readiness of a highly strategic DLA Distribution center through budgetary restrictions and the onset of the current COVID-19 outbreak, all while maintaining an accuracy rating of 98%.
McGee’s leadership and management experience was directly reflected in the processing of over 106 thousand material release orders with an average receipt to ship time of one and half days, ensuring zero mission down time.
As a commander that inspired leaders, healthy and cohesive workplaces, and many more examples of exemplary leadership, McGee was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
“His efforts with chairing quarterly cultural pocket meetings resulted in successful command events to spur cohesiveness among the Depot's diverse workforce,” said Adams regarding McGee’s approach to management, leadership, and morale among a diverse workforce.
Taking the helm, McClellan, no stranger to DLA from her previous tenure with DLA Troop Support in October 2016, will lead a distribution center holding 9.4 million war reserve assets and an inventory of 18 thousand items valued at $88.5 million.
McClellan holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master of Arts in Procurement and Acquisition Management and the completion of numerous service courses.
McClellan has done multiple deployments under various commands, and is a highly decorated officer.
