This week's topic covers the review of your organization’s emergency action plan.

So far this September we have been talking disaster preparedness. Are you prepared? Recent disasters in central Pennsylvania include tornados and flooding to name a few. So, remember to review your agency’s emergency action plan and consider the protective action tips below.

Shelter In Place:

  • Know the location of at least two SIP locations
  • Consider alternate SIP locations to avoid overcrowding (if safe to do so)
  • Practice social distancing and wear a mask
  • Protect yourself and others from COVID-19 by utilizing hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes (if available)
  • Contact your supervisor for accountability

Lockdown:

  • Lock exterior doors, keep away from windows and doors and wait inside for further instruction
  • Follow direction of notifications from AtHoc, giant voice or law enforcement
  • Practice social distancing and wear a mask

Building Evacuation:

  • Know where the primary or alternate rally point locations are
  • Practice social distancing and wear a mask
  • Contact your supervisor for accountability
  • Follow direction of notifications from AtHoc, giant voice and emergency responders
