How long have you worked for Disposition Services?

I have worked for Disposition Services Sagami Environmental Office for over 23 years.  I support the military installations with hazardous material reutilization, transfer and donations and hazardous waste disposal support.  I also provide support to U.S. Forces Japan for environmental issues and provide technical support.

What was your first job?

My first job was Cargo truck body design by CAD.  Before DLA, I worked for NAF Atsugi PWC as a Transportation Maintenance Manager MLC 2-10 and Environmental Engineer/HW Manager MLC 1-7 for a total of five years from 1990-95.

What is your favorite memory with Disposition Services?

My favorite memory with Disposition Services is the teamwork effort about polychlorinated biphenyls. also known as PCBs, retrograde to U. S.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is hazardous waste disposal advice to generators. Because we offer direct operational support to hazardous waste generators for waters such as perfluorooctane sulfonic acid/perfluorinated alkylated substances, more commonly known as PFOS/PFOA.

What has been the most helpful training you have received?

The training most helpful for my job has been R510 Transportation of HM/HW for DOD (DoT) and Resource Conservation And Recovery Act (RCRA) Annual Refresher.  These help a lot for daily work and are fundamental training for environmental operation.

What has been the most exciting thing you've done?

The most thrilling thrilling/adventurous thing I ever did was in 1988 - my first U. S. trip to Sun Francisco.  Thrilling and adventurous because I could not speak English well and my friend helped me a lot. Since then, I have started English learning almost every day.
