DLA Distribution Norfolk hosts agency’s senior leaders

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, hosted DLA Vice Director Brad Bunn and Chief Information Officer George Duchak for a visit and tour of the center’s facilities during the week of April 18.

Along with their visit to DLA Distribution Norfolk, Bunn and Duchak were in the area to visit other major subordinate commands – DLA Disposition, DLA Document Services and DLA Land & Maritime.

At DLA Distribution Norfolk, they received a command overview brief, along with a tour. At each stop, examples of DLA wins, challenges and DDNV’s team spirit were on display.

“Hosting DLA senior leaders is an opportunity to showcase DDNV’s diverse DLA mission sets and capabilities which, in some cases, don’t exist anywhere else within the Defense Department outside of DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia,” said DDNV’s Commander, Navy Capt. Justin Lewis.

Having two senior leaders visit in the span of a week afforded an extraordinary and rare opportunity to showcase DDNV’s talents to senior leaders.

“While Mr. Bunn and Dr. Duchak certainly ’got their steps in,’ they were also provided the opportunity to see first-hand our alignment to DLA’s Strategic Plan, at a pretty tactical level. Most importantly, our people loved seeing these two leaders on-site, taking the time to learn and ask questions about opportunities to improve the workplace and provide support to the warfighter always.”
