Corpus Christi’s COSIS Team wins DLA Distribution Team of Quarter

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs DLA Distribution Public Affairs

DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, Stock Readiness Branch Care of Stock in Storage team has been named DLA Distribution Team of the Quarter for fourth quarter fiscal year 2015.

The nine-member team is comprised of Gary Christmas, Martin Breth, Julie Crawford, Jose Hernandez, Rickey Morris, Rhonda Peterson, Valerie Sanchez-Pousson, Robert Steinocher, and Susan Stewart.

The Stock Readiness COSIS team conducts care on materiel in stock to prevent degradation of material to a lower condition code until it can be refurbished at the local maintenance depot or reissued to the warfighter.  This applies to more than 12,500 line items across nearly 30,000 locations among six warehouses and five open storage lots belonging to the distribution center.

According to the distribution center’s deputy commander Bob Rosarius, one of the team’s most significant recent accomplishments was the execution of a timely and efficient Stock Readiness inspection effort to clear approximately 5,000 special, visual and cyclic inspections.  Together, the team physically conducted the inspection and material validations of in-stock material to ensure the shelf-life and packaging requirements were within compliance.

During this time, the team has integrated four new members and continues to produce superior results to contribute to the operational readiness of not only DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, but the entire DLA organization in support of the warfighter, said Rosarius.

“Their collaborative teamwork, skill and diverse dynamic ensure the customer receives the highest quality work in a timely manner,” he concluded.
