PA lieutenant governor honors Troop Support 'flag ladies'

By Janeen Hayes DLA Troop Support Public Affairs

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Mike Stack visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Sept. 29 to honor the work and dedication of the organization’s flag room employees.

“When I got a chance to meet you the last time I was here, I was very impressed,” Stack said. “I am proud to represent those in our commonwealth, great ladies such as yourself, and the great things that you are doing.”

As part of the Clothing and Textiles supply chain’s mission, the flag room employees make flags for various battalion and brigade-sized military units and are known for hand embroidering the presidential and vice-presidential flags.

Air Force Col. Lawrence Hicks, C&T director, thanked Stack for honoring the important work of the embroiderers.

“We are very appreciative for you to come back and visit the flag room and recognize the work that the team does here,” Hicks said.

Stack presented each flag room employee with a personalized citation and a coin representing the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Stack is Pennsylvania’s 33rd lieutenant governor and the second ranking officer of the state's executive branch.
