Document services offer wide variety of printing, online needs

By Maria Childs 1ST INF. DIV. POST

The personnel of the Defense Logistics Agency offers document services worldwide with the mission to transform the Department of Defense from high volumes of printing to on-demand documents, electronic content and records management.

Staff with Document Services at Fort Riley, 263 Cameron Ave., provides electronic content management, scanning and conversion, printing services and office device management. All orders are received online through www.dla.mil.

Penny Latimer, electronic duplicating system technician at Fort Riley, said Document Services is a one-stop shop for all document solutions. This includes posters, brochures, manuals needed in the field and more.

“We are here to support the warfighters and anyone who supports them,” Latimer said.

According to www.dla.mil, DOD Instruction 5330.3 establishes DLA Document Services as the preferred provider for document automation services. It is also designated as the single manager for printing and high-speed, high-volume duplicating.

Latimer said even though Fort Riley’s location may not offer the service needed at a specific time, they can find a solution through another facility.

“We have other facilities that can do the work,” Latimer said.

Latimer said Fort Riley’s location is one of two location that offer posters. Each location has an extra item they offer, and that is the one chosen for Fort Riley. There are more than 150 locations in six countries.
