E-Cat - Electronic Cataloging

Course Description

The Electronic Cataloging (ECAT) course provides students with a knowledge of how to use the ECAT system to submit cataloging requests for action. These actions include requesting the establishment of new National Stock Numbers (NSNs), NSN modification requests, cancellation of NSNs, and reinstatement of NSNs, among others. After the completion of the course the students will be able to navigate successfully through the ECAT product. Other topics include using the collaboration tool to download and submit forms like the JLC17 form to add a user to an NSN, the JLC17 form to request changes to an NSN, the DD1685 form to take specific action on DLA managed items, and more.

Target Audience

Personnel submitting requests to Logistics Information Services Catalogers for action.
