On December 4, 2022, Mrs. Kimberly R. Lewis became the Deputy Director of DLA’s EEO and Diversity, Equity, Accessible, and Inclusion office.  In this position, she works with the DLA EEO Director in overall administrative planning and supervision of functions assigned to the office, including the administration of the DLA EEO Complaints and Compliance, Affirmative Employment/Diversity, and Inclusion, and EEO Operations divisions’ function. She also provides operational planning and supervision of functions assigned to the office.

Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Lewis served as the Staff Director of the Complaints and Compliance for DLA’s EEO program. She had program oversite over six MSC EEO programs to ensure compliance with EEOC laws and regulations.  She coordinated, and revised EEO policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure regulatory compliance.  Mrs. Lewis evaluated the effectiveness of the enterprise-wide DLA EEO Program and researched, analyzed, developed, coordinated, briefs, and maintained all internal and external reporting requirements.  She processed Final Agency Decisions, evaluated, and responded to breach of settlement allegations, as well as advised and oversaw the processing of EEO complaints at the enter-prise level. She brings a breadth and depth of knowledge as she has worked all aspects of EEO to include serving as an EEO Counselor, EEO Specialist, Complaints Manager, EEO Investigator, Disability Program Manager, FAD writer, Appeals Manager, and Special Emphasis Program Manager.  

Mrs. Lewis began her distinguished service in 1983 in the logistics field while serving as an active duty soldier in the United States Army.  She traveled the world on numerous demanding assignments from 1983 to 2003.  Specifically, Fort Dix, NJ; Fort Bragg, NC; Stuggart, GE; Fort Gordon, GA; Hanau, GE; Fort Jackson, SC; Fort Sill, OK; and the U.S. Army War College in PA.  Mrs. Lewis retired from the US Army in 2003 after being honorable discharge as a retiree.  She began her federal civilian service career in 2003 when she began working for a DLA field activity in New Cumberland, PA, where she served as EEO Specialist for nine depots executing the full range of EEO program responsibilities.  Mrs. Lewis managed the DLA Enterprise-wide Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities (WRP).  Mrs. Lewis’s management of the recruitment and placement of WRP students across the agency directly led to the DLA’s receipt of the Department of Defense (DOD) Outstanding Achievement Award two years in a row.  Her expertise in EEO investigations improved the DLA’s efficiency and quality of service in issuing final agency decisions.

Mrs. Lewis earned a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in December 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Services Management from the University of Phoenix in 2006.  She is also a certified Federal mediator.

She has received numerous awards, including the Civilian Superior performance awards for exemplary service.  She was also awarded to name a few Army Accommodation Medals, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Achievement Medals, and the Volunteer of the year award for her exemplary service.  Her leadership is further demonstrated through community involvement and her appointment as the lead Mentor for Kappa Epsilon Psi, Military Sorority, Inc. a female veterans sorority organization where she mentors female veterans who are still on active duty and who are transitioning into civilian life.
