Women’s Equality Day program emphasizes empowerment

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Federal Community and Federal Women’s Program celebrated Women’s Equality Day with a virtual observance Aug. 17 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus featuring keynote speaker Rebecca Beck, director of Accounting Standards and Reporting for Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

The light blue shallow water platforms of the Bahamas, which are separated by very deep dark blue channels, make for a striking scene. The Bahamas are one of the few regions where calcium carbonate precipitates directly out of the water, as the mineral aragonite, to form the coral reef islands.

Turning the tide on trash: installation environmental office shares message on the ocean’s plastic

Plastic is prolific in everyday life. Yet widespread use may ultimately impair environmental sustainability as these products find their ways into our oceans, lakes and rivers. The good news is that plastics that are disposed of properly largely avoid entering waterways and the food chain.

Land and Maritime Resolution Specialist renders National Anthem at state women veterans conference

COLUMBUS, Ohio — If anyone has attended a Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime event lately either virtually or in person, they have heard the vocal stylings of resolution specialist Lisa Griffin singing the National Anthem. Griffin has been a staple at these events for years and has sung for groups large and small.
