Oklahoma City’s Cooper named Employee of the Quarter

By Brianne M. Bender DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Antwain Cooper, a distribution process worker at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla., has been named Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of fiscal year 2015.

Possessing a positive attitude, strong work ethic and steadfast determination, Cooper completes any job assigned to him. During headquarters quality checks, he showed his knowledge and proficiency of his standard operating procedures.

Always eager to learn all aspects of the receiving process, Cooper recently volunteered to be assigned to the dock crew while the work lead was temporarily reassigned. During this time, there was a substantial increase in the workload due to incoming stock transport orders from sister sites. During his short tenure, he expertly oversaw the unloading of nearly 1,200 trailers that contained almost 50,000 items.

While keeping focused and motivated, Cooper was able to lead dock personnel through the surge and induct over 2,700 items.

Always supportive and aware of the Voluntary Protection Program’s role in the organizations, and the high safety standards set by the director, Cooper has a keen eye for workplace safety. He is quick to point out any potential workplace hazards to his superiors, helping to prevent any mishaps. Leading by example, he ensures housekeeping is maintained in his area. His cheerful and cooperative input is instrumental in supporting management’s daily safety briefings.

Cooper is a natural leader who sets the pace for his peers to follow. New hires are often drawn to his positive personality and mentorship.

“Mr. Cooper is invaluable to central receiving’s daily operations,” said Todd Stitham, MEI Supervisor, DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla. “His potential in our organization is limitless and I am proud to work with him.”
