Describe your job.

I provide management/oversight of DLA Disposition Services Hill. I am responsible for resourcing my team to provide reverse logistics support and solutions to our customer base.

What is your area of responsibility?

My team supports Utah, Idaho, Montana, and the Dakotas.

How long have you worked for the federal government, including military service?

17 years.  

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

15 years.

What is your favorite thing about your line of work?

The customers and team members I’ve had the pleasure of supporting and or working with.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

Reach for the stars but know the difference between reaching for the stars and reality.

What is your favorite memory with DLA Disposition Services?

I have too many to list; I will say I have a lot of fond memories from my past deployments.

What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

Humility.

What is your leadership philosophy and how does that tie into your line of work?

To give back. I’ve had the pleasure of working for some awesome leaders throughout my career. Me giving back to my team members has created a high level of trust. 

What keeps you motivated?

The team I work with, regardless of my area of assignment.

Why is networking to build professional relationships so important in achieving success?

Networking is key in developing one’s knowledge base and abilities. Having a good network gives a valuable resource to tap into, it also allows you to resolve matters at your level.

What mistakes have you seen individuals make that prevent them from being successful?

I’ve observed individuals not listening to their team members’ feedback, input, or recommendations.

What would you have done differently in your career if given the opportunity?

Nothing. I’ve enjoyed my career thus far and look forward to the next half.

“My bad, your fault.”
