Fuel facility expands resiliency on Guam

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — The 36th Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Management and DLA Energy South-West Pacific held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 1 to mark the completion of a new facility that will improve warfighter resiliency on the strategic Pacific air base.

Energy South-West Pacific changes leadership

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — Navy Cmdr. Angela Watson relinquished command of DLA Energy South-West Pacific to Navy Cmdr. Christopher Radke during a ceremony on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, June 25.

The fill stands and pump stations on Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, look shiny and new after receiving restorative coatings. The project is just a small part of an ongoing effort to protect vital fuel systems from the corrosion that pervades infrastructure on the tropical island. Guam fuel systems benefit from recurring maintenance program

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — The island of Guam’s breezes, salt air and tropical climate is a paradise, but for fuel infrastructure on Andersen Air Force Base it’s a destructive mix. Defense Logistics Agency Energy is taking a proactive preventative approach to stay on top of the island’s corrosive environment and maintain vital fuel systems.
