Army Chief Warrant Officer John Dewar headed the Airborne Detachment at the Army Support Center, Richmond, Virginia, which packed and inspected parachutes for Army use, in 1962. The Richmond General Depot, now Defense Supply Center Richmond, has a strong history of supporting the warfighter with equipment, like the parachutes Dewar inspected, and has become the headquarters for DLA Aviation.
