DLA Weapons Support

On July 24, the Defense Logistics Agency will close a historic chapter and forge a unified future as it officially deactivates DLA Land and Maritime, based at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. This deactivation, held in conjunction with the deactivation of DLA Aviation in Richmond, Virginia, the day prior, marks the formal stand-up of DLA Weapons Support – a new, integrated major subordinate command headquartered in Columbus.
The Defense Logistics Agency will host ceremonies on July 23 and 24, to mark the formal deactivation of DLA Aviation and DLA Land and Maritime and the activation of the new DLA Weapons Support major subordinate command.
The Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support (Columbus) Product Test Center advanced its additive manufacturing game with the addition of a specialized 3D printing capability with much more on the way, thanks to DLA Research and Development.
Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support leaders emphasized that enhancing support to warfighters and industry partners is the goal as the major subordinate command continues to integrate its land, maritime and aviation supply chains.
Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support (Columbus) hosted an Employee Appreciation Day June 12 for the entire Defense Supply Center Columbus workforce, transforming the installation into a lively, community‑focused celebration filled with games, food and opportunities to reconnect.
