Marines test system to expand fuel capabilities
Army Sgt. Leroy Faulkner, a fuel supply specialist from Ft. Lee, Va., tests fuel to determine the amount of additives needed in order for it to reach military specification during a technical demonstration of the Expeditionary Mobile Fuel Additization Capability at the Charleston Defense Fuel Supply Point Dec. 6, 2018. The EMFAC is a device used to convert commercial jet fuel into fuel that meets military specification through the blending of additives. The EMFAC was developed to supplement the supply provided by Defense Logistics Agency Energy, the primary agency responsible for additizing fuel and delivering it to the Marine Corps.
