From July 2023 to January 2024, Defense Logistics Agency Energy Korea lightered fuel off the Southern coast of Korea to transfer fuel from a larger vessel to a smaller vessel to safely get the fuel to Okinawa. Lightering operations improve DLA Energy’s overall readiness posture and can be applied around the world to ensure our warfighters have the fuel they need, when and where they need it.
