Peter Foreman

Chief of Staff DLA Disposition Services

Pete Foreman graduated from Hardin Simmons University as a Distinguished Military Graduate and received a Regular Army Commission(Armor) in May 1981.

Foreman held a variety of operational and command posts with air combat and aviation units throughout his 30 year career. Key assignments were as the Senior Aviation Attack/Cavalry Trainer, Operations Group at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin; Commander, 3d Squadron, 6thCavalry ; Deputy, National Security and Policy Division ODCSOPS; Chief, Transnational Threats J33, USSOUTHCOM; Commander, 6thCavalry Brigade, reflagged to the 2d Combat Aviation Brigade, Deputy Commander, Iraq Assistance Group stationed in Baghdad; Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Executive Officer and Deputy to the Commanding General for Police Development and the 75th Division Chief of Staff.

Foreman’s final deployment to Afghanistan was as the Combined Interagency Task Force 435 Chief of Staff. He retired from the US. Army on 1 July 2011 and joined DLA Disposition Services on 31 October 2011 as the J52, Transformation Strategy Division and assigned as the Director, J5 Transformation Directorate on 4 May 2012.

He was assigned as the Disposition Services Chief of Staff in Jan 2015.

He is a graduate of the Armor Basic and Advanced Courses, Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course, Command and General Staff College, and the National War College. He holds a master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University.

His military awards and decorations include the Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (3 OLC), Bronze Star (2 OLC), Army Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC),Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), NATO Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Global War on Terrorism Medal (Expeditionary), Korean Defense Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medalwith bronze star, the Overseas Service Medal with Numeral 2, the Master Army Aviator Badge, Afghanistan’s National Medal of Baryaland the Colombian Air Medal.

Foreman is married to Kristin has two sons and two daughters, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Rylee and Regan.
