Kenneth D. Morris

Deputy Commander, DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM

Kenneth D. Morris  is the deputy commander of DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.

Mr. Morris is a 1991 graduate of Grambling State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology. He holds a master's degree in Computer Resource Management, from Webster University and a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Air War College. He is formally certified in IT Acquisitions by the Defense Acquisition University. 

Prior to his current position, he was the DLA J6 Chief of Staff, at DLA HQs, Ft Belvoir. DLA Information Operations (J6) serves as the DLA knowledge broker, providing comprehensive, best practice technological support to the Department of Defense/DLA Logistics Business Community, resulting in expert-quality information systems, efficient and economical computing, data management, electronic business, and telecommunication services. While at DLA HQs he was also the J6 Business Relationship Manager, providing first and second level interface to senior DLA leadership for immediate critical IT problem resolution and strategic engagement for IT capability planning across the areas of Acquisition, Finance, Human Resources, Installation Support, Joint Reserve Force, Logistics Operations, and Headquarters Operations. 

Mr. Morris joined DLA in 2011 as the Director for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Information Operations Europe & Africa. In this capacity, he led the fielding, sustainment, and cybersecurity of all DLA IT operations for DLA Europe, DLA Central, and associated Southwest Asia operations in support of frontline warfighters and humanitarian efforts throughout the region. 

After graduating from Grambling State University Mr. Morris was commissioned into the Air Force. During his active military time, he served in increasingly responsible leadership positions including, the Chief of network Management for US STRATCOM, the Chief, Network Engineering for HQ AMC/ Network Operations, and the Chief, Air Force Systems Networking (AFSN). Upon separation from the Air Force, he transitioned to a civilian position as Lead Engineer for AFSN where he led the world worldwide deployment of the Air Force network security boundary. 

Mr. Morris has received many awards over his career, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and the National Defense Service Medal.
