Tanya Everett

Deputy Director, DLA Human Resources

Tanya Everett assumed her role as Deputy Director of DLA Human Resources (HR) on December 30, 2024, marking her return to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) with a steadfast commitment to driving workforce transformation and mission readiness. A Marine Corps veteran and experienced public servant, Ms. Everett brings a deep mastery of leadership, human resources (HR) and management functions, and an unwavering dedication to advancing the DLA mission in today’s Contested Logistics environment.

Prior to her return to DLA, Ms. Everett served as Director of the Treasury Executive Institute at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, leading training and development shared services for over 53,000 senior leaders across 67 federal organizations. Her leadership extended to other key roles, including co-leading the Department’s Presidential Transition Team and advising the Assistant Secretary for Management, where she oversaw the Treasury Department’s Executive Resources, leveraged and integrated artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance HR operations, and advanced human capital strategies during critical reforms like the $80 billion Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). She also held senior HR and management roles at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, where her proactive initiatives enhanced organizational effectiveness, automated and streamlined operations, secured direct hire authorities, and supported legislative efforts such as the $237 million Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020.

During her previous tenure at DLA as the J-1 DHRS Administrator, Ms. Everett optimized HR operations across 275 global locations, successfully managing a $139 million budget and leading a team of 870 HR professionals. She has also held key roles as a senior HR specialist at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and various civilian HR and EEO positions within the U.S. Marine Corps, culminating in her service with Manpower & Reserve Affairs, Headquarters Marine Corps (M&RA, HQMC).

Her educational journey reflects a deep commitment to lifelong learning and leadership. Ms. Everett holds a Master of Education in Human Resources and Workforce Development from the University of Arkansas, a master’s degree in human services, and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, along with numerous certifications in HR and leadership. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Leadership and Innovation, further enriching her expertise. This blend of academic and professional learning informs her evidence-based approach to HR management, with a strong emphasis on strategic alignment with organizational goals.
